6 draft prospects the Carolina Panthers have met with so far in 2022

Carolina Panthers have met with Matt Corral
It’s no secret that the Carolina Panthers could be in the market for a quarterback at some stage in the coming weeks. Sam Darnold’s lackluster first campaign with the organization has plunged his future in doubt, although there’s little chance the front office finds a willing trade partner given that the USC product is making a fully guaranteed $18.85 million.
Whether this is via another veteran trade for someone such as Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield is debatable. There are also some serious questions to answer surrounding a draft class that is deemed one of the weakest in recent memory.
Carolina has been front and center for some pro days involving the top prospects. One that is expected to be in relatively high demand is Matt Corral, whose evaluation process has been hindered by an ankle injury suffered during his final appearance for Ole Miss.
This didn’t stop Corral from catching the eye at his pro day. The signal-caller has a phenomenal release and although he missed a few targets, this can be attributed to rust rather than anything related to his progressions.
One thing Corral has that others don’t in this class is proven production in the SEC against defenses loaded with NFL-ready talent. While he might be seen as a reach at No. 6 overall, if the Panthers opt to trade back for some Day 2 selections given up during moves for Darnold and C.J. Henderson, he comes into the equation.
