How would Skyy Moore fit on the Carolina Panthers?

  • Year 1 rotational receiver, Year 2 starting slot receiver

The logjam in the Carolina Panthers receiving room would hold Skyy Moore back from being a starter right away. But certainly, he would get a handful of reps this season in both the slot and out wide.

Rashard Higgins is only on a one-year deal. This could result in Moore getting plenty of looks as a sophomore if Terrace Marshall Jr. fails to show enough progression after an anonymous rookie campaign.

Up to this point, the Panthers seemed to whiff on the Marshall selection. Meanwhile, Shi Smith looks to be out of the picture after getting into legal trouble.

Carolina may shy away from taking another wide receiver after taking the LSU product during the second round in 2021. But taking a chance on a guy like Moore, who could be a special NFL talent, is worth it providing the Panthers can secure other needs first.

Scott Fitterer traded back a plethora of times in last year’s draft, so it would not be surprising if he trades back a lot again this year. This would open the door to selecting the Western Michigan product in the late first or early second-round depending on how the board plays out.

The sky is the limit for Moore in the right situation and with proper development. Allowing the young prospect to learn from veterans such as D.J Moore, Robby Anderson, and Higgins would unimaginably benefit him. And it could very well lead him to develop into a star.
