Trenton Scott – Former Carolina Panthers OL

It’s been an encouraging offseason period regarding the offensive line and how much better the unit could look in 2022. Bradley Bozeman and Austin Corbett joined the Carolina Panthers in free agency and provide an instant upgrade on anything the team already has on the interior, so they appear one more piece away from being a productive unit next time around.

Obviously, this is dependent on whether all the team’s starting options can stay healthy for a consistent period during the season. The Panthers aren’t blessed with quality reserves based on last season’s level of performance, although there remains hope that Deonte Brown can emerge as a sophomore providing everything goes well for the Alabama product during the preparation period.

Carolina will look towards the 2022 NFL Draft for further reinforcements. They might even take one last look at Trenton Scott given his familiarity with the organization and the fact he did play well as a guard last time around when called upon.

Scott looks like a lost sheep out on the edge, which has been par for the course throughout his career. However, the Panthers should arguably have kept him in last season on the interior based on his consistency and assistance on running downs.

It might be the right time to move on. But the Panthers love going back to old faces if the previous two years are any indication.
