Carolina Panthers must consider Justyn Ross

  • Wide Receiver | Clemson

It’s a sad situation surrounding Justyn Ross. The wide receiver was once regarded as an elite performer at Clemson before some troubling injuries dented his progress – something that’s clearly still impacting the prospect based on poor testing at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Not only this, but Ross also appears to have lost a step on the field, which is the most concerning factor of all. This could see the wideout drop dramatically within a deep class at the position when push comes to shove.

Just where Ross is drafted remains a mystery right now. Some analysts project a second-round selection while others have the player dipping into the sixth-round such is the concern regarding his chances at the next level following health concerns.

On his day and at the peak of his powers, Ross was a phenomenal force. He is a matchup nightmare at 6-foot-4 and comes with an elite ability to create yards after the catch.

Ross is also an incredibly intelligent player. Someone that often bamboozles opposing cornerbacks with cutting-edge route-running and assured hands to match.

The injury has devastated his chances, in all honesty. But if the Carolina Panthers find him on the board in the mid-rounds, then it’s worth a gamble despite the team having never selected a prospect from the nearby Tigers.
