Carolina Panthers could select Brian Robinson Jr. (Alabama)

  • 2 receiving touchdowns

Brian Robinson Jr. made the most out of an increase in reps for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2021. He was their undisputed No. 1 option following their usual NFL turnover and the running back put up some career numbers at just the right time before he takes his chance at the next level.

It’s hard to look at Robinson and not think he’ll have a successful pro career. His balance is first-class and has the necessary size to pick up a heavy load depending on where the prospect lands.

Robinson’s ball security is elite. His patience waiting for gaps to appear already looks NFL-ready and this is matched by a thick frame that allows the back to attain extra yardage after contact for good measure.

There are very few holes in Robinson’s game when putting on the film. The player’s lack of explosiveness could mean he’s restricted to a running back by committee role rather than a workhorse at the next level and there are also some concerns when it comes to his pass-catching prowess that needs addressing.

The Carolina Panthers could definitely benefit from having someone like Robinson for the long-term. But judging by consensus projections, they might need to acquire some Day 2 capital if the organization identifies him as a primary target.
