Following in the footsteps of his brother, James Cook is another intriguing option that could end up being a productive NFL starter with additional refinement. The former Georgia Bulldog contributed significantly to their memorable national championship triumph in 2021 and there will be more than a few teams looking at the prospect as a solid rotational option that could develop into something more.
He is, of course, the sibling of Dalvin Cook, who was a second-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings and has now evolved into one of the league’s best running backs. While Cook doesn’t have his brother’s physical running style just yet, there is plenty to like about his pro chances providing he lands on an established team with a premier player at the position already in place.
Cook is a smooth runner with the explosiveness to devastate opponents once he gets to the second level. He has quick feet and superb vision, with his versatility something else that won’t go unnoticed by NFL scouts.
The prospect can also be a weapon in the passing game. Cook was used out of the slot frequently at Georgia and become a reliable option in key situations.
Christian McCaffrey occupies a similar role for the Carolina Panthers. But as stated previously, dependability is a real concern regarding the All-Pro and if Cook falls into Round No. 4, it might be worth considering.
