Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

Amid all the offensive inefficiency from the Carolina Panthers came a disappointing first season in the pros from Terrace Marshall Jr. The wide receiver came into the league with a big reputation following a standout career at LSU, which resulted in the primary decision-makers ignoring the obvious need at left tackle to take the player at No. 59 overall.

Marshall was an afterthought for Carolina’s offense despite working with Joe Brady in college. Once the offensive coordinator was fired midway through the bye week, the wideout became even more of a non-factor.

This was a terrible situation for Marshall, in all honesty. Inconsistent quarterback play, a team devoid of any confidence, and an offensive line that couldn’t withstand pressure meant things were never going to be smooth sailing.

That’s not to say Marshall wasn’t without his faults. There were times when he struggled to get open quickly and the second-year-pro needs to make more out of the outstanding physical attributes he brings to the table moving forward.

The introduction of Ben McAdoo might help. But the Panthers have to find a better option under center to install additional confidence in Marshall’s sophomore aspirations.
