Carolina Panthers rival has sights set on Malik Willis

It’s hard to deny Malik Willis’ upside. The quarterback’s arm strength is other wordly, he is incredible competitive, and has the personality that will make him an instant fan favorite in no time at all.

Projecting where Willis will eventually land is the big question. Some analysts have the Liberty product going to the Detroit Lions at No. 2 while others have the signal-caller falling all the way to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 20.

There’s just no telling for definite. That’s what makes this part of the process so confusing and fun in equal measure.

The Carolina Panthers have shown interest in Willis throughout. But a recent report from Jordan Schultz indicates an NFC South rival could be willing to move up ahead of them in pursuit of landing their quarterback of choice.

The insider/analyst stated that league sources believe the New Orleans Saints could package together their first round selections to surge up and take either Willis or Kenny Pickett. This would be a blow for the Panthers if they are intent on acquiring a signal-caller, but it also improves their chances of securing an elite left tackle, too.

Again, this is all just speculation at this point. However, the opening hour of the draft is set to be as unpredicatable as there’s ever been and Carolina has to prepare for every eventuality.
