Projecting what could happen before the Panthers pick at No. 6 – 2.0

Houston Texans select Evan Neal
- Offensive Tackle | Alabama
The Deshaun Watson saga is mercifully over for the Houston Texans. This undoubtedly came as a real relief for everyone associated with the organization and they held firm to acquire some substantial draft capital from the Cleveland Browns for a player that was no longer part of their plans.
Reports suggest the Texans are ready to give Davis Mills a real shot at becoming their long-term option under center. The former third-round pick did flash on occasions as a rookie and should benefit from this experience providing further adjustments are made this offseason.
Laremy Tunsil was restructured rather that traded, but that should not stop the Texans from acquiring another productive offensive lineman to protect Mills and if the draft goes this way, they’ll have the pick of the litter.
Selecting Evan Neal would be beneficial, to put it mildly. The mammoth blindside protector has all the makings of a next-level stud and he’s already demonstrated a willingness to play anywhere outside of the center position once he arrives in the pros.
A tackle tandem of Tunsil and Neal could end up giving Houston one of the league’s best in no time at all. The Carolina Panthers will be hoping the Alabama product falls into their laps, but that does appear unlikely given his upside.
