4 best-case draft scenarios for the Carolina Panthers in 2022

Carolina Panthers get a king’s ransom to trade back
As stated previously, Scott Fitterer is known for being aggressive during the draft and he wasted no time in making his presence felt in his new role with the Carolina Panthers last year. Matt Rhule might still have the final say on personnel decisions, but the general manager’s growing influence in how the organization goes about its business can only mean good things moving forward.
Fitterer is a master draft negotiator who knows how to manipulate the board in his favor. However, with little in the way of coveted capital right now, it will be a tall task to accomplish similar feats which he attained in 2021.
According to Mike Giardi of the NFL Network, the Panthers have already been speaking to teams about potentially moving back from No. 6. This is not entirely unexpected and a deal could even be put in place if a specific prospect of interest makes it down to Carolina.
If this scenario comes to fruition, it gives the Panthers an opportunity to select a left tackle and acquire a quarterback lower down the pecking order. This might not be a top-caliber prospect, but it would present them with an opportunity to solve two problem position groups in quick succession.
One thing that is guaranteed – Fitterer will not be sitting on his hands until the Panthers pick again at No. 137.
