Predicting positions the Panthers will take in each round of the 2022 draft

Carolina Panthers will select OL in Round No. 7
Although the Carolina Panthers got themselves significant starting upgrades on their interior offensive line in free agency after Austin Corbett and Bradley Bozeman came on board, bolstering the depth chart with a little more quality could be something to consider.
The likes of Dennis Daley, Michael Jordan, Pat Elflein, and Cameron Erving were unreliable at best in 2021. None are expected to fill prominent roles next season thankfully, but all it takes is one or two injuries to increase uncertainty across the protection.
Nobody would expect a seventh-round selection to become anything more than a depth chart piece right out of the gate. Something the Panthers have managed to secure with Stantley Thomas-Oliver III and Phil Hoskins over the last two seasons.
Selecting an offensive lineman for new coach James Campen to develop could have some long-term benefits. Even if the chances of this are increasingly unlikely shortly before the undrafted free-agent frenzy gets underway.
It promises to be an intriguing draft that could go either way for the Panthers. How they come out of this crucial period of the offseason will tell us plenty about what their real goals could be when competitive action begins again.
