5 draft prospects the Panthers don’t want to see in the NFC South
By Dean Jones
Breece Hall – RB (Iowa State)
The Carolina Panthers had some difficulty stopping the run down the stretch in 2021. This had a lot to do with inept offensive efficiency putting too much pressure on the defensive side of the football, but it will be interesting to see how things pan out in this area of play with DaQuan Jones and Haason Reddick no longer around.
Although running back would not be a big need for any NFC South team, if Breece Hall represented good value on Day 2, it might see the former Iowa State product end up within the division.
Hall burst onto the scene in 2020 with a phenomenal campaign that ended with 1,572 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. He backed this up last season by racking up 1,472 yards on the ground with 20 scores.
Not only does Hall possess an NFL-ready frame, but he is also extremely explosive and has the contact balance to make his presence felt immediately. His top-end speed is outstanding and further reflected in a 40-yard dash time that clocked in at 4.39 seconds.
Hall can also provide assurance in the passing game when opportunities arise. Providing the player improves the blocking aspect of his production and bolsters his route tree at the next level, he could become a star in no time at all.
