5 potential alphas the Carolina Panthers could draft in 2022

Carolina Panthers could draft Lewis Cine
- Safety | Georgia
Defensive coordinator Phil Snow stated during recent media availability that he would like to see the Carolina Panthers add another safety to their list of options at some stage during the offseason. This is despite the team bringing back Sean Chandler and Juston Burris in addition to signing Xavier Woods from the Minnesota Vikings in free agency.
The cheapest way to accomplish this is by selecting a talented prospect during the 2022 NFL Draft. Although they’d probably need some Day 2 picks to do this, Lewis Cine has all the alpha traits needed to make a real success of his professional career.
Cine was part of the Georgia Bulldogs defense that conquered all en route to a convincing national championship in 2021. He is a ruthless hitter that commands respect across the middle and can also make a significant difference coming down to the line of scrimmage on running downs.
The defensive back is athletic enough to be Week 1 starter for somebody. But the Panthers might opt to wait until a little later in the draft given the presence of Woods and Jeremy Chinn as their starting options.
With that being said, there is plenty to like about Cine’s fit in Carolina. Whether this scenario becomes a reality is another matter.
