Jaycee Horn – Carolina Panthers CB

  • NFL Comeback Player of the Year

It was a substantial blow to see Jaycee Horn break his foot in Week 3 at the Houston Texans. An injury that saw the cornerback’s rookie season cut short after leaving the biggest of impressions.

Horn looked every bit like the alpha and shutdown corner that the Carolina Panthers hoped for after they passed on Justin Fields to take him No. 8 overall. There was a real swagger to his play that had been missing in the secondary for some time and the South Carolina product backed this up by shutting down everyone in his path.

Judging by some social media posts regarding Horn’s offseason workouts, he looks back to full fitness. Something that the Panthers need desperately after deciding to let All-Pro Stephon Gilmore walk in free agency, where he eventually signed for the Indianapolis Colts.

There is an unbelievable amount of anticipation surrounding Horn’s sophomore campaign. If the player picks up where he left off and leaves a substantial mark where it counts, then winning the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award is something he can accomplish.

Horn is a true breakout candidate for the Panthers next season. Hopefully, there will be no more complications on the injury front and the stud defensive back can prove beyond all doubt that Carolina made the right call bringing him on board.
