Dennis Daley – Carolina Panthers OL

One could make a case for Dennis Daley being removed from the equation before his contract comes to an end in 2023. The versatile offensive lineman has failed to make the most of countless opportunities over the last two years and the reinforcements made by the Carolina Panthers across their protection this offseason means he faces a significant fight to make the 53-man roster.

Daley has all the size and athleticism to become an NFL force. Things haven’t come together for the South Carolina product as yet, but the Panthers are willing to give him one final chance of staking a claim with new offensive line coach James Campen now in the fold.

The player did himself absolutely no favors last season with his “not my job” quote after yet another missed assignment from the protection. If Daley were to be released after training camp, not many would be shedding tears.

Now is the time for Daley to stand up and rise to the occasion. And urgency should not be a problem considering his status after the likes of Austin Corbett and Cade Mays came on board.

Daley gave up three sacks and conceded an astonishing nine penalties from just 572 snaps last season. The margin for error is now non-existent and even if he does end up making the team, giving him a contract extension is absolutely out of the question based on recent production.
