Carolina Panthers OL must dominate

Fans could argue that the offensive line hasn’t been solid since 2015 when the Carolina Panthers went 15-1, eventually losing in Super Bowl 50.

The protection was dreadful in 2021. The only bright spot was Taylor Moton, who is a great offensive lineman and the unofficial 2022 training camp MVP according to Matt Rhule.

Brady Christensen didn’t play too bad his rookie season on the left-hand side. Expect him to see an increase of snaps this season given his involvement throughout the team’s recent training camp.

The Panthers upgraded the offensive line by using the No. 6 overall selection on left tackle Ikem Ekwonu, who is a Charlotte native. It’s hopeful that the former North Carolina State standout will slide into the vacant blindside position and be the cornerstone for a decade or more.

The team upgraded the line in free agency as well by signing Austin Corbett, who most recently won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams as the starting right guard.  He brings solid experience and stability that was sorely lacking last season.

The Panthers also signed center Bradley Bozeman, who previously played for the Baltimore Ravens. Another impressive addition to the interior that should provide an immediate upgrade on Pat Elflein.

With these three additions the Panthers added during the offseason, their offensive line should perform much better in 2022. If this scenario comes to fruition, then Carolina has a great chance to be successful.
