Carolina Panthers should monitor SirVocea Dennis

While many Carolina Panthers fans will be glued to the possibility of Noah Sewell or Trenton Simpson, another linebacker from the defending ACC champions could make a case for being a potential top-100 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.

SirVocea Dennis is one of the most underrated defenders in the ACC. He totaled 82 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks last season, including the momentum-swinging pick-six against Clemson. He is arguably the best defensive player on the Pittsburgh Panthers roster.

The former two-star recruit is a linebacker that loves to play downhill. Dennis offers a quick trigger and closing speed shooting down the alley while playing with control and good technique as a tackler in the open field. This is a linebacker that rarely plays out of control and off balance.

Dennis processes the flow of the offense very well and is quite disciplined with his run fits. One cannot help but appreciate his athletic ability as he has shown plenty of range to roam sideline-to-sideline.

A second-team All-ACC linebacker, Dennis’s play style reminds me a lot of former Georgia Bulldog and current Miami Dolphins rookie, Channing Tindall. Another player whose biggest strength comes from playing near or at the line of scrimmage.

Dennis can be a potential three-down linebacker. However, I would like to see him add more strength to his mass and be utilized more in pass coverage.

Even so, Dennis is a linebacker Panthers fans should watch closely this season.
