Carolina Panthers’ offensive struggles

For the past two years, the Carolina Panthers have not been able to consistently score points, let alone move the ball. Their offense ranked dead last in 2021 according to Pro Football Focus, and with good reason.

This has to change if the Panthers want to have any progression in terms of wins this year. And obviously, quarterback play is a major factor in these complications.

There are no more excuses for the offense as they are fully healthy and as deep at the wide receiver spot as they’ve been in several years. With a motivated Baker Mayfield, they should move the ball very efficiently regardless of the opponent.

A new scheme under offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo can help propel the talent on offense to a top 15 or better unit by the end of 2022. The collection of playmakers and versatility will be very difficult to game plan for if the former New York Giants head coach puts his chess pieces in the best possible situation.

This has the potential to be Carolina’s best offense since Matt Rhule was appointed. Expect quickness to be utilized, which gets the ball into the hands of each primary weapon in space along with play action and the bootleg that Mayfield is very comfortable doing.

McAdoo will make the best of his second chance at offensive coordinator and get this offense where it should be. If running back Christian McCaffrey can stay healthy and the offensive line makeover comes with improved production, this offense will be a handful.
