Which huge threats must the Carolina Panthers contain in pursuit of a Week 2 victory against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium?

With all the talent on the Carolina Panthers, underperforming right out of the gate in Week 1 was a bitter disappointment. Could this be a new year, same story type of season for head coach Matt Rhule?

If so, the head coach could be heading back to college. Nebraska has an opening that would likely be very appealing to Rhule if he continues to struggle in the NFL.

Last year the Panthers lost a game to the New York Giants which they should have won. It was an absolute embarrassment for not only the team but for the passionate fans.

A 25-3 loss last year was quite the head-scratcher. The Giants were decimated by injuries to key players and the Panthers only managed to score three points.

The 2022 Giants team is very different from last year’s version, with a brand new staff full of high-profile coaches. It’s a very experienced bunch with lots of success in the league, so this promises to be another stern test for Carolina in no uncertain terms.

With that being said, here are four huge threats Carolina must keep an eye out for against the Giants.

Huge Threat No. 1

Carolina Panthers must contain Kadaius Toney

Kadarius Toney only had seven snaps in last week’s game vs the Tennessee Titans. But that doesn’t mean the Carolina Panthers should exclude him from the defensive game plan.

Toney is very explosive with the ball in his hands. He can turn a five-yard route into significant gains with incredible ways to make defenders miss.

The game against the Dallas Cowboys last year was his coming out party going for 189 yards on 10 catches. Phil Snow must have a great plan to contain Toney whenever he’s in the game, but there is a chance he doesn’t suit up at all after suffering an injury in practice this week.
