4 teams that could trade for Carolina Panthers WR Terrace Marshall Jr.
By Dean Jones
Which teams could potentially try and trade for Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr.?
The Carolina Panthers got a much-needed victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, but what occurred prior leaves the future of Terrace Marshall Jr. in doubt. Those in power opted to make the wide receiver a healthy scratch for the contest, which is the latest blow to a player that came into the franchise with an untold amount of promise.
Injuries haven’t helped Marshall’s cause. But it appears as if the Panthers are running out of patience and unless there is a drastic turnaround, then trading away the 2021 second-round pick before the deadline becomes a realistic possibility.
Marshall has the physicality and athleticism to potentially carve out a successful career for himself. However, for the player to attain this, then a fresh start away from Carolina could be the best possible solution.
With this in mind, here are four teams that could call the Panthers for Marshall in this scenario.
Team No. 1
Dallas Cowboys
After trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns for minimal compensation, the Dallas Cowboys look extremely light at wide receiver. CeeDee Lamb remains an asset and Michael Gallup’s return should help, but this isn’t the deep unit it once was and something Jerry Jones might address if things don’t improve.
The Cowboys are treading water without Dak Prescott right now. Once he returns, they must have the weapons capable of smoothing his transition back into the lineup and that’s where Terrace Marshall Jr. comes in.
Dallas’ owner is reluctant to part ways with draft capital for players. But the Carolina Panthers could potentially accept a Day 3 selection at this stage, which is tempting.
