Carolina Panthers RB D’Onta Foreman scores 2 TDs

Things looked bleak for the Carolina Panthers after those in power opted to deal Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers before Week 7. This took way the team’s most dynamic offensive weapon, but it allowed those further down the pecking order to enter the spotlight with great success.

The running back tandem of Chuba Hubbard and D’Onta Foreman blew the Tampa Bay Buccaneers away to the tune of 173 rushing yards. This was far better than anyone envisaged and was the foundation for what turned out to be a morale-boosting triumph.

With Hubbard missing in Week 8 at the Atlanta Falcons through injury, the onus falls squarely on Foreman’s shoulders to carry the load. Although the Panthers could also introduce Raheem Blackshear if the former Oklahoma State star is unable to participate.

Foreman has the power and explosiveness to make a real difference. Atlanta’s run defense is giving up just 100.3 yards per game, but there’s nothing to suggest Carolina’s offensive line cannot create the necessary holes despite the presence of defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.

The Texas product should also see more activity in red-zone situations. With this in mind, we’re making a bold prediction that Foreman will reach the end zone twice.
