Carolina Panthers should consider Kareem Hunt

Another Cleveland Browns player that could be on the move before long is Kareem Hunt. The running back is looking for more involvement elsewhere and a new deal for good measure, which could grab the Carolina Panthers’ attention given that they recently sent All-Pro Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers for a huge haul.

Hunt’s had some severe character concerns throughout his career but seems to be back on track. Playing second fiddle to Nick Chubb has been frustrating and the player now seemingly wants a fresh challenge in a different environment as a result.

Whether this is something that legitimately interests the Panthers is another matter. They could be content to ride with D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard for their remaining games, which would allow them to potentially acquire a talented running back prospect from the college ranks in 2023.

This would be the cheaper and better long-term solution, one suspects. However, if the Panthers feel like they have a good chance of beating out their divisional rivals to a playoff spot, it’s a gamble worth discussing.

One could make a case that McCaffrey shouldn’t have been traded at all if Carolina explores Hunt in a little more detail. But that would be overlooking the financial aspect attached to what was a difficult decision regarding the previous face of the franchise.
