Are we scouting a new kicker? That last miss was inexcusable. He’s now in his head. – Nick Wilson

Thank you for your question, Nick.

I hate to break it to you, but Eddy Pineiro is not going anywhere. Steve Wilks said on Monday he had no plans of trying out new kickers ahead of Week 9.

"“Eddy’s still a part of our team, a major part of what we’re trying to get done.”"

Before Sunday’s game, Pineiro was as steady as they came among NFL kickers. He was 14 of 15 in field goals and had completed all 12 of his extra points.

However, as Nick said, the kicks were inexcusable. Though, I disagree that the Florida product should be let go just because he missed two kicks. Playing kicker is extremely difficult at any level.

It’s a position that holds no remorse. If you miss at a consistent and concerning rate, you aren’t going to be on a team, period.

Yet, Pineiro has played well for the Carolina Panthers this season before Sunday’s unfortunate events. I will be giving him the benefit of the doubt moving forward.

I want to see how Pineiro responds to adversity. When you miss kicks, it can get to your head. As the weeks go on, there will be a lot of pressure on the former Gator.
