Carolina Panthers select Tank Bigsby

  • Running Back | Auburn

With the Carolina Panthers trading away all-world running back Christian McCaffrey, D’Onta Foreman has settled in as the team’s bell-cow runner and totaled at least 100 yards in four of the last six games.

However, Foreman will be a free agent this offseason. If general manager Scott Fitterer is unable to land a deal with the physical presence, the Panthers could go with a similar running back through the NFL Draft Tank Bigsby.

Bigsby is the type of running back that can handle a heavy workload if needed. He’s a north and south runner who succeeds in between the tackles. The Auburn standout offers good leg churn after contact and sheds tackles at a decent clip.

The junior would get a stamp of approval from Auburn alum Cam Newton with his running style. Bigsby also offers explosive lateral cuts and good agility that allow him to be a bit more scheme versatile than some would expect.

Bigsby could use some better technique in pass protection as well as adding more mass to his frame. Though, he would be quite the successor for Foreman should he land on another team this offseason.

So far throughout this mock draft, the Panthers have done their job of surrounding C.J. Stroud with as many weapons as possible for early success at the next level.
