Carolina Panthers select Tank Bigsby

  • Running Back | Auburn Tigers

The Carolina Panthers enjoyed a season where their run game came to life. This represented a throwback style of football that fans of the franchise loved in the 2000s on rosters that featured DeShaun Foster, Stephen Davis, DeAngelo Williams, and Jonathan Stewart.

D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard became a one-two punch that was difficult to defend in the second half of the season. Entering the offseason, the Texas product becomes a free agent and there is a chance he looks for a payday elsewhere.

This means that the running back position will need to be addressed at some point through either free agency or the 2023 NFL Draft.

There are several backs that I could’ve gone with at this juncture. However, I’m a big fan of Tank Bigsby‘s game and he certainly looks like a prospect that could get an opportunity to produce during his rookie campaign.

Auburn’s star rusher is a very physical and tough runner that offers great quickness and creativity. He displays a good amount of burst once he finds green grass and has the ability to take runs the distance.

Bigsby is one of the most underrated Day 2 prospects in this draft class and could get early playing time this coming season. But much will depend on what the Panthers plan to do with Foreman in this scenario.
