Carolina Panthers select Tyler Scott

  • Wide Receiver | Cincinnati Bearcats

You might be asking who in the world Tyler Scott is. This is a perfect time and place to get you familiar with a potential riser in the 2023 NFL Draft process.

Scott was the Bearcats’ No. 1 wide receiver in 2022, averaging almost 17 yards per catch for 899 receiving yards and nine touchdowns

The Carolina Panthers are in need of another playmaker at wide receiver, specifically in the slot. Shi Smith did not reach preseason expectations, though the team does offer talent at the position such as D.J. Moore, Terrace Marshall Jr., and Laviska Sheanult.

Scott would add a blazing speed element to the team that has not been seen since Ted Ginn Jr.

The three-star high school recruit is a former track star who offers blazing speed and the ability to torch defenses underneath with incredible second and third-level acceleration. Scott also offers great twitch and body control to allow him to create yards after the catch by himself.

In Frank Reich’s offense, I could see Scott working himself into the starting slot receiver role. He offers the separation skills and playmaking ability to be a formidable target while avoiding playing on the boundary against press-man corners, where he could struggle due to his small frame at 5-foot-11, 171 pounds.
