Which pending free agents playing in Super Bowl 57 should the Carolina Panthers potentially look to acquire in 2023?

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are about to take center stage for all the marbles in Super Bowl 57. Something the Carolina Panthers and others around the league should be watching with great interest.

Even though the Panthers don’t have much in the way of financial wiggle room on their salary cap currently, those in power will already be scheming up ways to free up the funds needed for progression. And with Frank Reich at the helm, they could end up becoming an attractive destination based on recent coaching hires.

A more cohesive approach to recruitment is also going to help. This was sorely lacking under Matt Rhule, who had the final say on personnel and was immensely stubborn throughout his sorry tenure.

On the subject of incomings, here are four free agents playing in Super Bowl 57 that the Panthers should monitor closely in 2023.

Carolina Panthers could target JuJu Smith-Schuster

Finding help for any new quarterback coming into the fold would be wise. The Carolina Panthers are on the lookout for their franchise signal-caller of the future, so it’s vital the right pieces are molded at the skill positions to smooth any transition.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is an intriguing option. The former USC star fell just 67 yards short of reaching the 1,000-yard receiving milestone in his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs, which could mean he becomes a coveted veteran if the player hits the market.

Although it’s a possibility, going down the draft route represents a cheaper alternative considering what Smith-Schuster might want on his new deal.
