4 free agents in Super Bowl 57 the Panthers should target in 2023

Carolina Panthers could target T.J. Edwards
Ejiro Evero’s high-profile arrival as defensive coordinator comes with huge potential. He’s one of the up-and-coming coaches and widely respected in league circles, so this could ignite a talented core into becoming a true force in 2023.
The Carolina Panthers might not have Evero for that long, so it’s important they give the coordinator everything he needs to be successful. This means spending money on free agents and getting hot prospects into the fold via the 2023 NFL Draft.
Carolina’s linebacking core could be one of the areas in need of a makeover. Evero deploys a lot of 3-4 base, so finding personnel that fits this scheme is of paramount importance in the coming months
One player that could be a fine addition is T.J. Edwards. Originally an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin, he’s emerged as a prolific second-level defender that thrives in all phases of play and should be paid according by the Philadelphia Eagles or someone else this offseason.
Edwards racked up a phenomenal 159 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, and seven passes defended in 2022. His outstanding performances also came with a lofty 84.8 grade from Pro Football Focus.
The Eagles are unlikely to give up Edwards without a fight. But they have plenty of mouths to feed and if this results in a trip to free agency, the Panthers should make their play.
