Week 3 NFC Offensive Player of the Week:  Drew Brees

This is the second consecutive week that Drew Brees has come away with the top offensive honor. Brees was once again instrumental in delivering a win for his New Orleans Saints ball club against a jump-start Houston Texan team. Brees was 31 for 44 (71% completion) for 370 yards and three touchdowns. Though Brees threw two interceptions in the game, he came up big when his team needed him by tossing two touchdowns in the 4th quarter. On the day, Brees connected with Robert Meachem, Lance Moore, and Jimmy Graham (who had 100 receiving yards in the game). Brees finished the day with an ESPN QB rating of 99.6

Week 3 NFC South Defensive Player of the Week: Ronde Barber

Barber was all over the field on Sunday and contributed inmany different areas. He had four total tackles, of which one was for a loss. Barber also had his hand in on a couple of turnovers in Tampa Bay’s victory against NFC South foe, the Atlanta Falcons. Barber recovered a fumble and added another interception to his already impressive Hall of Fame resume.

Week 3 NFC South Special Teams Player of the Week: Connor Barth

Barth nearly had as many points as the Atlanta Falcons did on Sunday. Barth had a total of ten points and had an all-around perfect kicking day. He was three for three on field goal attempts as he converted kicks from 26, 28, and 49 yards respectively. He additionally added an extra point to help give Tampa Bay a 16-13 victory over the Dirty Birds.
