Darren Waller. 240. player. 87. At this point in the draft, I think a gamble on another Georgia Tech beast-of-a-receiver is worth taking. The Panthers continue to supply reinforcements for Cam in the form of a 6’6″, 238-pound behemoth named Darren Waller. He clocked a ridiculous 4.46 40-time at the combine, along with an eye-popping 37-inch vertical. His catch radius, and body screams ‘red zone target’. He would come in as a raw project, and it’s also possible that he is better suited as a tight end at the next level. Coming from the triple-option offense at Georgia Tech, the receivers are depended on to block first, catch second. His route tree probably resembles more Stephen Hill, than Calvin Johnson, but he is a consistently strong blocker. There’s no doubting his athletic gifts, and with a little patience, the Panthers could have a hybrid receiver to place on the same field with the 6’5″ Kelvin Benjamin in a few years. Perfect pet project to grab at the end of the draft. . WR/TE. Georgia Tech
