Round 2, Pick 64

Teez Tabor, CB-Florida

The Panthers selected three cornerbacks in last year’s draft, so it only makes sense that they select another early in this draft. All jokes aside this would actually be a smart decision, as the team could start James Bradberry and Tabor. Carolina would also have a good rotational piece in Daryl Worley.

The team did struggle last season defending against opponents in the passing game. Adding another starter quality cornerback would immediately turn this weakness into a strength. The team already invested in free agency at the position, but that was for Captain Munnerlyn who excels at the nickel corner position. There are many things to love about Tabor, as he is a 6-foot cornerback with great ball skills. Tabor also does not shy away from pressing receivers and attempting to knock the ball free.

2016 Stats:

Tackles: 23

Interceptions: 3

Passes Defended: 6

Sacks: 1

NFL Comparison:

Patrick Peterson (Minus Overall Speed)

Other Scenarios:

Fabian Moreau Slides Scenario- In this scenario the Panthers would pounce on the opportunity to draft Moreau over Tabor. However, it is unlikely he makes it to the No. 64 pick. Probability of 15-percent.

Zay Jones Is Still There Scenario- If Jones falls all the way to this pick there is a good chance he becomes the next Panther. It is that simple and this scenario is more likely than the Moreau one. Probability of 50-percent.
