Wide Receivers: B-

A week ago Damiere Byrd enjoyed his most productive game since college with five catches and 27 yards versus Minnesota. On Sunday, he took a step forward to solidify his role as a legitimate secondary receiver opposite Devin Funchess. Byrd enjoyed his first professional touchdown in the third quarter, squeezing into the back of the end zone before finding pay dirt again just two possessions later.

Devin Funchess was held largely in check by the Packers defense making his only catch of the game during the first play of the second half. The coverage on Carolina’s receivers allowed for more opportunities from the tight end position and routes from the backfield, but the Panthers still need a receiving threat. Only four of Newton’s 20 completions went to wide receivers.
