Contain Zach Ertz

More from Cat Crave

Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is a nightmare matchup for a defense that has struggled against tight ends all season. Ertz is leading all at his position in yards (480) and is the sixth most targeted player in the entire league at this point.

Philadelphia isn’t likely to change relying on Ertz to help their offense so limiting his production needs to be the Panthers focus. Unfortunately, Carolina has struggled to cover tight ends and defensive coordinator Eric Washington needs to make an adjustment.

The Panthers have surrendered 287 yards to opposing tight ends this season and three touchdowns. If Ertz isn’t accounted for then he could easily dismantle the Carolina secondary which must also be wary of rookie Dallas Goedert, in addition to receivers Nelson Agholor and Alshon Jeffery.
