Cam Newton

This may seem like a weekly trend, but more often than not he deserves it. Cam Newton is the top stud of the game. He had a tremendous day, throwing the ball well and possessing all of the skill traits he has in his toolbox. He threw accurately, threw the deep ball well, and led his team to victory as a good leader should.

He finished the day going 21-of-29 while throwing for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He also averaged 7.9 yards per pass attempt. In addition, he did not receive a sack. His timing was great on Sunday, and it seemed as though he made all the right reads. He showed his versatility in this one and he continues to thrive under new offensive coordinator Norv Turner. He should undoubtedly be put in the conversation for the MVP award as he has put together a tremendous season. Winning the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award last week, he put together a strong performance.

Hopefully, he can continue to find success against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is a team who has suffered a little bit of a slide. Even still, they have talent on defense and the Panthers should be aware of that heading into Sunday. Particularly in the secondary, they have playmakers that could make life tough on Newton. However if he can beat a top defense like Baltimore, he should be able to find success against the Buccaneers.
