Oklahoma State edge player Jordan Brailford is a mid-round prospect the Panthers have an eye on for a variety of reasons. His motor, athleticism and high ceiling are all quality characteristics Carolina needs on their defensive line.

While he may not start immediately, Brailford could be targeted as the second defensive front player taken, depending on how Hurney uses his first couple of picks. Hoping to transition their front in 2019, taking a top level talent and adding Brailford later in the draft would be the beginning of a quality haul for Carolina.

If the focus is elsewhere early, then getting the former OSU standout as insurance, in addition to developing Cox and Haynes is also possible. Pay attention to Brailford and notice how his combine results stack up against some of the other defensive ends. If close, Hurney may pass on a first-round edge selection in hopes of getting him later.
