The Carolina Panthers are on the verge of getting some new scenery.

The Carolina Panthers are officially moving to Rock Hill, South Carolina. That much was evident as the organization held a ceremony on Wednesday to make the announcement. With Congressmen doing the dab and multiple media present, I would say that all sides are excited about this move.

Panthers owner David Tepper did not say much according to Jordan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer. Some of the things that we do know are that the Carolina Panthers will move to Rock Hill in 2022. Tepper was asked if the team would remain in Spartanburg to which Tepper replied “in some form.” Also important to note is that the Carolina Panthers contract with Wofford College expires this summer.

It is great to hear that this dream is finally becoming a reality. Ever sense Tepper took over the Carolina Panthers, this has been one of his main goals. With so much talk about it and so much guessing and potential ideas, it is nice to see these things finally getting a little bit of traction. However, Spartanburg will be missed. One of the selling points of Panthers training camp was how close to the action fans could get. However, the new digs the organization is set to call home should be pretty impressive. We have already heard some ideas of what the practice complex is going to look like, and it sounds like a football player’s palace.

Results on the field on top of this news would be even better. I sense that the Carolina Panthers are hungry this year, more hungry than last year. Of course, that is what a losing season will do. The Panthers want to succeed and get back to winning ways. They certainly have the talent on the roster, they just need to be able to put it all together. With exciting rookies and crafty veterans all being a part of the plan, the Carolina Panthers should have talent that will excite fans this season.

Last year there was a little bit of a learning curve with a new offensive coordinator and the poor play of the defense, which resulted in some coaching changes. This year, everything should be status quo and players like quarterback Cam Newton will be able to focus on getting healthy and not have to worry about as much with a year of the offense under his belt. I know I said this last year, but this feels like the year where everything is going to come together.

The culture change that Tepper was talking about is coming to Carolina, and the move to Rock Hill in 2022 will certainly add excitement to a bustling organization.
