Ross Cockrell

Ross Cockrell is definitely a guy who has a ton to gain in this preseason. According to the recently released unofficial depth chart, he is slotted in two positions for the Carolina Panthers. Both the second-string right cornerback and free safety positions are occupied by Cockrell.

As some of you may recall, he broke his left tibia and fibula during training camp last year. As a result, he was placed on injured reserve. It is safe to say that 2018 was a lost season for him, and now he looks to make the most of his opportunities this year. As a member of the Giants in 2017, Cockrell recorded 50 tackles and three interceptions in 2017. He brought a little bit of everything to the Giants secondary, and I hope he can do the same for the Carolina Panthers. His versatility should fit very well in this defense.

He is one of the players who the most to gain and prove this preseason. Finally, he is healthy and in a position where he can help the secondary. It sounds like, judging by his depth chart position, he will have plenty of chances at playing time. Hopefully, he can recapture the successes of his 2017 season. He certainly is a player that I’ll be keeping an eye on.
