Impact player to watch: TE Greg Olsen

Tight end Greg Olsen is nicknamed “Ole’ Reliable” for good reason. When he is healthy he has been Newton’s favorite target by far. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy for the last two seasons.

The last time Olsen was able to suit up for all 16 regular-season games was 2016. That season he was able to haul in 80 passes and total 1,073 receiving yards. Impressive numbers for a tight end.

I expect Newton to be looking for Olsen a lot in Week 1 against the Rams as he is still getting comfortable with his adjusted throwing style.

He should be able to have a huge impact on the outcome of this game if he can keep the chains moving by making tough catches in the middle of the field for Cam Newton.
