Kyle Allen

Kyle Allen was a stud on Sunday. There’s not much more to be said.  At a time when the Carolina Panthers needed a win and solid quarterback play, they got both. For someone who had limited experience starting a football game, Allen looked incredibly polished.

He threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns on 19-of-26 passing. He truly showed that he could lead an offense. He was in command throughout the entire game, and he got the ball to the receivers. I really liked how he was decisive and instead of having second thoughts about his reads, he just went and threw the football. That’s half the battle in the National Football League. He looked comfortable in the pocket, and as the offense definitely responded to him well.

I’m not saying there is going to be a quarterback controversy. However, Allen certainly gave the Carolina Panthers fans something to cheer about. If Newton is not ready to go against Houston next week, I would definitely consider penciling him in as a starter. He showed that he is capable of playing at a high level.
