Return man Ray-Ray McCloud was covered well by Jacksonville after repeatedly looking like he was ready to break a big one in earlier contests. Hopefully he returns to form against the Buccaneers next week.
The same can also be said of kicker Joey Slye, who had his worst career outing this week. After having his first field goal attempt blocked, the Panthers kicker never recovered. While blocks are rarely a kicker issue, it seemed to bother Slye throughout the game as he pushed another attempt and extra point try to the right.
Michael Palardy again helped execute for Carolina with high hang-time and booming punts. A well placed one just under the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter pushed Jacksonville into the shadow of their own goal posts leaving them the entire field to travel for a potential tying score.
Carolina looks to win their fourth consecutive game in London next week before the bye.
