JeffreyOkudah. Scouting Report. Cornerback. Ohio State. 3. player. 50. Pick Analysis

The defensive secondary of the Detroit Lions always leaves much to the imagination. They couldn’t stop any quarterback last season as they’ll need to bolster this aspect of the team immediately. Luckily, with the No. 3 overall pick, they take the first cornerback off the board in Jeffrey Okudah of Ohio State.

At 6-1 and 205lbs, Okudah made a name for himself due to an extraordinary work ethic, incredible speed, and a high football IQ. When a game is on the line and you need your defense to come up big time, Okudah is the man to do his part and get the job done.

Okudah is an instant starter and will have an immediate impact upon arrival with the Lions. Since the team is currently trying to rebuild for a brighter future, Okudah will usher in a new era of Lions football that will see their defense be formidable sooner rather than later.

Scouting Report. IsaiahSimmons. player. 4. 31. Pick Analysis. Linebacker. Clemson

When you think of a prolific linebacker that can come right in and take care of business at a pro-level, no one comes even close to Isaiah Simmons. The Clemson human tackling machine will be a true force to reckon with and what better venue than the city that never sleeps.

It’s been a long, long time since the New York Giants had a linebacker of this caliber who will undoubtedly be a leader on defense in no time. He’s a Butkus Award winner and widely considered the top linebacker of the entire collegiate scene.

The versatility that Simmons brings to the table will make new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham smile from ear to ear on a weekly basis. He has all the makings to be a once in a generation defensive player that can lineup at various parts on defense. He’s going to terrify many opposing offenses whether he’s at linebacker, cornerback, or safety ready to unleash havoc.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. JustinHerbert. player. Quarterback. Oregon. 5. 59

I know, I know. Many draft analysts and pundits truly believe that the Miami Dolphins would draft quarterback Tua Tagovailoa out of Alabama at No. 5. Due to health concerns, however, they actually decide to head in a completely different direction. Enter quarterback Justin Herbert out of Oregon.

The Dolphins need a playmaker at quarterback to try and push the envelope this upcoming season. One that can make plays out of nowhere and be consistent in keeping those chains moving. They’ve made some good moves so far this offseason but when they bring Herbert into the mix, things will take off nicely on offense.

Herbert is exactly the dual-threat kind of quarterback the Dolphins need to finally bring some excitement under center. He can do it all either through the air or ground and will easily develop into a superb quarterback as he transitions into the pros. Big things are brewing in the Sunshine State as Herbert is going to be that missing piece the Dolphins have been waiting years for.
