Carolina Panthers Round 2 pick (No. 37): Marquise Blair – S

Although Marquise Blair was used on a rotational basis by the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. His potential is limitless and he could be a star on defense for the franchise during his sophomore campaign.

Blair stood out considerably during his time at Utah. And his skill set was there for all to see whenever he did see the field for the Seahawks. The Carolina Panthers could have used a young speedy player on the back end last term, which proved to be an area of real weakness that eventually ended with them parting ways with veteran safety Eric Reid.

This is something they addressed in 2020 by trading back into the second round to land Jeremy Chinn. And the organization also took a gamble on fifth-round selection Kenny Robinson following an eye-catching spell in the XFL.

That being said, Blair has definite Pro Bowl potential. Even though his stats did not jump off the screen. That does not tell the story surrounding his overall production when he saw the field.

Blair secured a lofty 78.0 grade from Pro Football Focus in 2019. This is a further testament to his ability to make every down count. And the player should come on a large amount with an extra offseason of preparation and the possibility of an increased role.

The Panthers spent their second-rounder on offensive lineman Greg Little. He was taken out of the limelight somewhat. But the franchise does have high hopes for him going forward.
