Carolina Panthers: 3 trade targets from the Buffalo Bills

Carolina Panthers trade target: Tremaine Edmunds (ILB)
The Carolina Panthers have a gaping hole to fill at inside linebacker following the retirement of Luke Kuechly. They did add Tahir Whitehead on a one-year, $2.5 million deal in free agency. But it remains to be seen whether the player is anything more than a short-term solution.
If Whitehead does not show what he is capable of during the early stages of the campaign. The Panthers might be forced to go in a different direction early. Tremaine Edmunds is a standout player at the position and is growing with every passing year.
Although Edmunds would not count much on the Panthers’ salary cap whilst still on his rookie deal. The Buffalo Bills are unlikely to let their 16th overall selection in 2018 go on the cheap.
It’s easy to forget that Edmunds is still only 22-years-old, so the best years of his career are still ahead of him. He is learning all the time and if the former Virginia Tech standout has a prolific 2020. Then it could result in a long-term extension next spring.
This would be a bold move by the Panthers, and one that might cost them some substantial compensation. That being said, the organization is desperate for someone to fill the enormous shoes of Kuechly. And Edmunds represents a player with proven production that is only going to get better.
