Carolina Panthers: 3 trade targets from the Cleveland Browns

Carolina Panthers trade target: Larry Ogunjobi (DT)
This possible trade might be better placed in time for the 2021 season. The Carolina Panthers have a real dilemma regarding defensive tackle Kawann Short and he might be released next spring due to his astronomical salary-cap figure.
There is a chance the Pro Bowler might be restructured. But given the Panthers’ desire to go younger throughout their roster. The more likely scenario is that Short will be moved on at a cap saving of around $9 million.
If the organization wants to go bold with a potential replacement to put alongside No. 7 overall pick Derrick Brown going forward, then Larry Ogunjobi of the Cleveland Browns should be high on their shortlist. The imposing figure has been a revelation since arriving in the league. And he has a rare ability to impact the game on running or passing situations.
The third-round pick in 2017 has totaled 5.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons. And there is real hope he can make even bigger strides this time around. Any potential move for Ogunjobi would have to come with substantial compensation. But it could end up with Carolina having one of the best defensive tackle tandems in the NFL if Brown reaches his ceiling.
Ogunjobi is a player that the Browns clearly want to build around. And Myles Garrett returning to the lineup will only aid his chances of increased production. He is a lively character on and off the field who seems tailor-made for what head coach Matt Rhule is trying to achieve.
