Trai Turner – OG

  • 2020 team – Los Angeles Chargers

Fans will be no stranger to Trai Turner following his outstanding first spell with the Carolina Panthers that came with five Pro Bowl selections. His time with the Los Angeles Chargers didn’t go as smoothly thanks in no small part to injury and the offensive lineman now finds himself on the free-agent scrapheap looking for a new home.

Turner is reportedly looking for $2-3 million to sign in 2021. This is a far cry from the bumper deal he signed with the Panthers once upon a time. But it’s easy to forget the player is still just 27-years-old and could end up being a bargain at this sort of price if he reaches the form of old.

That is absolutely no guarantee, obviously.

Turner looked a shell of his former self last season and would need to prove he is capable of becoming a productive starter once again. But the Panthers are lacking in quality options on their interior protection and might want to take a closer look for themselves.

If Turner comes into camp and doesn’t show enough, Carolina can move on quickly and go with the current players they have at their disposal. However, should the LSU product thrive in more familiar surroundings and gets back to his 2019 form in the process, it could have some positive ramifications within a group that struggled in pass protection last time out.
