David Moore – Carolina Panthers OG

The Carolina Panthers think a lot of David Moore. They worked with the interior lineman at the 2021 Senior Bowl and took a calculated risk by not using a draft selection on the Grambling State prospect that eventually paid off.

Moore was quickly snapped up in undrafted free agency and comes with a significant amount of upside. He might be a little undersized for an NFL guard, but the player’s arm length is sufficient and technically there is more than enough to work with moving forward.

Having familiarity with the scheme is something else working in Moore’s favor. Much has been made about the concerns surrounding Carolina’s offensive line in 2021, which has to come good if they want quarterback Sam Darnold to thrive following his trade from the New York Jets.

There is a quiet optimism that Moore can eventually become a solid piece of the rotation. That might not happen this season, but there is a strong possibility he makes the roster.

If not, the practice squad is almost guaranteed providing another team doesn’t scoop him up beforehand.

Moore has the power, aggressiveness, and athleticism to forge a successful career in the NFL. Providing he works on his balance at times, the Panthers would be wise to keep the rookie around in some capacity.
