Christian McCaffrey rushes for 1,200 yards

Considering there is one more game in 2021 thanks to the recent big changes implemented by the NFL, gaining 1,200 rushing yards should be reachable for Christian McCaffrey with a full campaign under his belt.

This equates to 70.5 yards per game. Well within the reach of a player with McCaffrey’s undoubted talents.

The Carolina Panthers will obviously mix it up on offense – especially in the passing game. But everything good will come from the Stanford product setting the tempo.

At the very least, it will keep opposing defenses honest.

His presence in the backfield results in eight or sometimes nine players occupying the box to prevent big yardage. Something that should open things up for the dynamic weapons at offensive coordinator Joe Brady’s disposal.

McCaffrey is a big play waiting to happen if he reaches the second level. Carolina’s run blocking needs to make some substantial strides to further assist matters, with the presence of rookie tight end Tommy Tremble also set to benefit the back more than most.

The Notre Dame product is seen as a work in progress from a pass-catching standpoint. But his reputation as a violent and prolific blocker is something that could make an impact early on.

As stated previously, keeping McCaffrey fresh throughout the season is essential. Fourth-round pick Chuba Hubbard is an intriguing arrival as the new primary backup, but 1,200 rushing yards is a realistic goal regardless.
