Jacksonville Jaguars

Urban Meyer probably knew things were going to be tougher in the NFL after a sensational career in college. But the baptism of fire has been a substantial one.

The Jacksonville Jaguars remain one of the worst teams in the league despite landing Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Meyer has taken some heat for the way he’s handled certain situations and if he can’t put a couple of wins together – and quickly – the pressure will only mount.

Success in Jacksonville wasn’t going to happen overnight. But the team sitting at 0-4 after spending big in free agency and acquiring the best signal-caller prospect in a generation is disappointing.

Should the Jaguars decide to end the Meyer experiment after just one season, then Joe Brady would undoubtedly be one of their first ports of call. Especially if Sam Darnold can continue progressing under his tutelage and lead the Carolina Panthers into the postseason.

Working with Lawrence and a ton of young talent is an intriguing proposition. Couple this with the fact they might have the first pick once again in 2022 and it becomes even more attractive for someone with Brady’s undeniable potential.
