Salisbury native Javon Hargrave seems to finally be having a breakout year in his sixth season and it’s been much needed for a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has struggled more often than not so far.

Through four games, Hargrave has five sacks and 24 tackles, making him the first defensive tackle since Warren Sapp in 1999 to have 15+ tackles and 4+ sacks through the first three games of a campaign.

Hargrave has had a sack in all but one game this year, including two in a game twice. He is set to play a Carolina Panthers offensive line that struggled mightily this season and will fancy his chances of giving quarterback Sam Darnold a tough afternoon in Week 5.

His career-high is 6.5 sacks in a season a few years ago with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Hargrave is on pace to blow that number away this year.

As Carolina’s interior offensive line has been the weakest point of the protection, this would be a good week to try and get themselves together.

Hargrave is one of the only real threats on Philadelphia’s defensive line as Fletcher Cox has struggled this season despite his undeniable talent. So keeping him quiet should be a focal point.
