Tua Tagovailoa

The “Tank for Tua” movement seems like a long time ago now. And according to recent reports, the Miami Dolphins are at the front of the queue when it comes to trading for Deshaun Watson.

Tua Tagovailoa has suffered his fair share of problems staying healthy since arriving in the NFL. This was one of the big question marks surrounding the former Alabama star, who suffered a horrific hip injury that required significant rehabilitation during his final year with the Crimson Tide.

Tagovailoa has been inconsistent to start the 2021 season. Although Miami’s offensive line wouldn’t be classed as stellar and Myles Gaskin has been inconsistent as the No. 1 running back.

There have been some signs of life. Tagovailoa’s blossoming chemistry with Jaylen Waddle is encouraging and although this hasn’t resulted in many wins in the column, it’s far too soon to be writing him off just yet.

It appears as if Miami is hell-bent – much like the Carolina Panthers – on making a bold bid for Watson despite the clear complications that could emerge in the not-too-distant future.

The Houston Texans are not interested in having Tagovailoa as part of the deal, according to reports. So the Panthers would be wise to put a call in Miami’s direction in this eventuality.
